To increase the footprint of local culinary businesses, city officials in San Antonio launched a program called Break Fast and Launch which pairs emerging food entrepreneurs with technology mentors who teach them business. The tech mentors don’t have culinary backgrounds, but they know how to get a startup off the ground. Break Fast and Launch was started last year with city and federal funding.
